SWAMP SONG
Some photography projects should not be explained too much. As in the case of this work by Loic Thisse, in which the words might only affect the silence that he has skillfully managed to build in his images. What speaks for itself, is the time, slowly exhaling its pulse, while we enter a gray, sleeping, and almost lethal forest. There is something in the photography of Loic Thisse that is very close to a prayer. (Steve Bisson)
«Swamp song was shot in the morning of the 6th of february 2011 in a small wetland near Toulouse, in the south west of France. My aim was not to document this place, nor to point any social or environmental issue. I wanted to write a song with pictures: a muddy, bluesy, instrumental piece, based on the foggy mood of that day, on a fantasised southern U.S. imagery, and on the rythm of the walk».
