«In this age in which what we call ‘social networking’ has probably become the main vehicle for photography, The Significant Savages exploits an arbitrary selection of Facebook profile images in which alternative artefacts are represented instead of the user. These defining photographs seemingly make up for our wish to conceal what we look like, while satisfying our need to exhibit our subjectivity. However their uniqueness dilutes into a mix of stock images and bad clichés reproduced endlessly, inspired by advertising, travel agencies and mass media. These pictures, supposed to be identifying, all end up being somewhat identical».
