COEXISTENCE
«I always tried to express myself visually. As a child and adolescent I did a good deal of drawing, painting and doodling. Later I experimented with an ordinary digital camera for a while but eventually got more serious about photography when my grandfather gave me his old 70’s camera a few years ago. Since then I’m constantly learning and trying to develop my photographic eye».
«Over the time I became aware of the fact that a lot of my landscape-work was showing the overlap of natural and man-made structures, which developed into the ongoing long-term-project “Coexistence”. It came together pretty natural.
I’m from a small town in southern Germany and love long aimless walks into nature. I’ve always been surrounded by forests and thus feel some kind of connection to plants and trees. Each time I visit a bigger city I’m fascinated by how nature seems to get along, regardless of how altered the landscape may be».
«When it comes to photographing people I may be a bit shy and anxious, but I’m trying to work it out someday. I would love to do more documentary type of work about the life of others, but for now I’m mostly doing portraits of friends and family».
«I have a soft spot for photographs which firstly appear banal or even moody but have a hint of humor and seem to say “Hey, it’s not that bad” with a smile. In short: Currently I’m feeling most comfortable on lonely walks, constantly investigating my surroundings, in search of everything ugly or beautiful that catches my eye».
