RACHEL WOLFE: ‘ESPLA’
«ESPLA / Especially L.A. / Existence, or the place for the self within another place, has always captivated me. The photographs in ESPLA describe the vague nature of the subtle sensory experiences and transmuted intuitions I gained from the landscapes within the Los Angeles area. An interesting juncture is made between myself, an artist from the Midwest, my interests in the spiritual and philosophical sensibilities of Eastern and Ancient cultures, and my presence in the landscapes of the West Coast. In a literal merging of East and West the photographs explore the merging of spiritual and communal relationships with nature and the nature of life within the contemporary landscapes of Los Angeles. A book containing these images and corresponding texts is currently in progress».
