In 1960, Rome hosted the XVII edition of the Olympic games. This event radically changed the urban setting of the city, starting from the Villaggio Olimpico that, once the games were over, became the neighbourhood of the new middle class, a functional and futuristic area, characterized by a delicate balance between nature and concrete. %0 years later, nature is taking over the landscape and there are only a few scattered signs of the human presence. The “Villaggio” is a unique and bustling neighbourhood that wants nothing but being discovered, in patient contemplation.
The collective [nove] was born in Rome as a centre for photographic research. Those who took part to the realization of “Villaggio Olimpico Roma” are Antonello Mazzei, Eleonora Calvelli, Marco Rapaccini, Federico Ciamei and Michela Papalia as the curator of the project.
