«I guess I sort of try to understand what I’m doing here, in the most immediate sense. I think how we interact with nature is something uncanny. It shows in us too. The roles we choice to play, finding comfort in nature’s predictability. We base institution around comforting ourselves from its strangeness, its latent power over us, but that inherently is so stark to me… so lonesome. We have to develop these elaborate stories to give it feeling. Give ourselves identity in the face of it. I don’t know if I’ve traveled too much and haven’t found a home base to document as a part of me. I do feel a sense of spirituality towards nature and our nature. Its truly a wondrous thing. There is just something so fantastic and dejecting about being here as well.»
